Author William L. Holladay explores Jeremiah from the Old Testament who, for the first time compared to other prophets, introduced a third party - himself - to the conversation in that he questioned his own relationship with God. For this and other reasons, author Holladay asserts Jeremiah was a spokesman out of time, more relevant and perhaps more at home in our time than in his own.
